Wall of Honor
Our client, The Boeing Company, wanted to create a display to honor fellow company employees who served in the armed forces. Boeing designer Jim Santoni, Art Director Shared Services, working with Francisco Flores, Account Manager at Photomation, worked on creating a unique “Wall of Heroes” display.
Digital wallcovering, 3M 180C with 8520 laminate, was added to the back wall to create the backdrop where gold brushed aluminum dimensional letters on ½″ thick black sintra were used for the title. Five military seals were printed as Digitalmaster™ Prints and face mounted to ½″ thick, beveled edge and flame polished acrylic circles. The seals included ½″ clear acrylic cleats to create a floating look on the wall.
Three acrylic boxes, each with a locking mechanism to secure the displayed contents were fabricate. Two boxes were 48″×40″ and one was 18″×36″. The smaller one was used to display the medals of honor by creating a system of felt cloth on stretcher bars to hang and display the medals.
The 48″×40″ acrylic box on the right side included a double print of the US flag, one print was mounted on 15 ml styrene and was cut out to the exact shape of the name tags using our Zund digital die cutting machine to keep the name tags uniform and straight. A second print mounted on ⅛″ sintra was utilized as a backing and both boards were mounted together.
The wall has received many great reviews and has been a great way to honor the men and women from this Boeing facility who faithfully served in the U.S. armed forces.
