Commemorating End of an Era
Our client, The Boeing Company, was one of the pioneering firms that helped to develop and implement the Space Shuttle Program. As the final Space Shuttle touched down last summer, Photomation was busy assembling frames containing all 135 commemorative pins created for each launch.
Centered around a majestic image of a Space Shuttle launch, these 135 pins were individually placed in launch order around the two mats used in each frame. Special plates were printed for Boeing employees who had played a significant role throughout the 30-year span of Shuttle launches.
To create precision placement of each commemorative launch pin a template was created and a numbering scheme was prepared to ensure each pin was placed in its proper place. Each frame took about two hours to set each of the 135 pins.
These commemorative pin frames were works of art when they were finished and a fine tribute to mark the end of an era in space flight.
