We Are Certified

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Photomation is pleased to announce that our printers are 3M™ MCS™ Warranty Certified. This certification means that we are qualified to offer the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty for graphics made on 3M-specified products printed on both our HP 360 64″ printer and our HP LX600 108″ printer.

As a graphics manufacturer, Photomation is proud to be certified by 3M as being able to offer the 3M™ MCS™ Warranty on finished graphics that meet their exacting requirements. While this Certificate is not required by 3M, it does demonstrate our commitment to excellence, and helps give you, our valued client, a greater peace of mind.

The process to become certified required taking online examinations covering different types of vinyls and adhesives and how to properly specify different materials based on the intended use. Scientific aspects of different vinyls and specialty materials were also part of the six-hour exam. Once the testing phase was completed, our equipment was verified by an onsite visit of our 3M representative.

Constantly looking at how to provide the very best quality, products and service is how we do business. Our 3M Certification is another way we demonstrate that commitment to our clients. We are Photomation — Imagination Thrives Here™.

Making a Big Impression

KnowledgeByte Main Image

After celebrating Photomation Knowledge Byte’s 500th issue last week, many people asked to see our very first issue created nearly 10 years ago. All past issues are available under the BLOG tab on our website. For this week’s issue, we are going back to where it all started. Read how we were able to guide our client to make a big impression to benefit CHOC Hospital. Here is Knowledge Byte issue #1…

That was the request from ad agency DGWB. The agency was responsible for creating visual graphics for the Anaheim Ducks CHOC Night at Honda Center. DGWB asked Photomation to wrap ten columns at Honda Center, four of which they wanted made to look like a cast so people attending the game could write get well wishes to the children at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC).

“We showed our client several options of material they could use to make the columns look like a cast”, says Photomation president Matt Hesketh. “While we have done many column wraps at Honda Center, nobody has ever asked us to make one look like a cast. I brought the task back to the great people who work at Photomation and they came up with the best way to make it happen.”

One twist was that the client wanted to display the signed “casts” at CHOC once the event was over. “We had to take that into consideration in using a product that would roll into the shape of a cast then be able to lay flat on a wall once it was all signed”, says Hesketh. Due to event scheduling at Honda Center, all the graphics had to be installed on game day and removed right after the game. “Both the installation and the removal went very smooth. Everyone involved was thrilled with the end result.”, says Hesketh.

Our 500th Issue

KnowledgeByte Main Image

For 500, mostly, consecutive weeks we have published our newsletter designed to showcase the depth and breadth of work we do for our clients. You bring us stories that need to be told to your clients, staff and stakeholders, then we help you tell those visual stories using signs and graphics.

Many of the stories we tell are designed to create brand awareness. Others are intended to create a healing environment. Some are for motivation and inspiration. Still more are used as art to enhance the spaces where our clients live and work.

For nearly 10 years, our weekly Photomation Knowledge Bytes have provided a way to document the visual stories we have helped to tell as well as to serve as a way to stimulate creative thinking and create unique applications of signs and graphics in our clients’ lives.

From all of our team members, thank you for taking a few minutes each week to share the joy we have in being visual storytellers to amazing clients like you.

Twice as Nice

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, First International Bank & Trust, is the sponsor of two brand new Zamboni Ice Resurfacing machines headed to the local high school in their hometown of Fargo, North Dakota. Referred by The Zamboni Company directly, we worked with the President of the bank and his marketing team to create a design for both machines.

Several design options were presented and suggestions from our client helped to focus the design process. After weeks of discussion and designs, final layouts were approved for production. Using 3M 180C with 8519 lamination, multiple panels were made to prepare for installation.

Installation was performed at the Zamboni manufacturing facility located just up the freeway from our production facility. Over the course of two days, each machine had their graphics put on by a pair of installers.

Progress photos were sent to the bank headquarters throughout the day and final, completed wrap photos were sent at the end of the day. The client was very pleased with the end result and is looking forward to many years of marketing exposure to the bank’s current and future customers.

Do you have a vehicle you want to use to communicate your marketing message? If so, give us a call. We’d be happy to bring your vision to reality.
