Creating a Healing Environment

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, Petra ICS, wanted to add graphics to four rooms of a new facility, St. Mary’s Outpatient Imaging Center, in Victorville, Ca. Working with layouts from Montanio Design Group, we assembled images to make the final design. Next, we made full sized strike-offs for approval. Strike-offs are used to check image sharpness and color fidelity before making the large wall graphics. Satisfied with the tests, approval was given to proceed with production.

Using Dreamscape’s Mystical wallcovering material, each wall was paneled and printed using HP Latex inks. Over 200 linear feet of material was used to produce the floor to ceiling wall graphics.

Installation was done over a couple of days due to room availability. Work began at 5:00 a.m. and ended when the last panel was installed around 3:00 p.m. The wall graphics add a sense of calmness to these normally stark rooms. All of that leads to a more healing environment for patients.

Shooting for the Moon

Our client, UCI Samueli School of Engineering, wanted to wrap a 40′ Airstream trailer to be used for a new program. Working with company President, Charlene Hesketh, university officials contacted her to help make this happen in time to meet a rapidly approaching deadline where the newly wrapped trailer would be unveiled.

To create a template to place graphics on the trailer, we headed to Victorville to measure the trailer and to take pictures. Upon our return, artwork was created with the input of school personnel. After a few minor adjustments, the files were approved and sent to production.

Over 750 sq. ft of material was used to cover the UCI Mobile Rocket and Fab Lab trailer. 3M adhesive vinyl 180C with 8519 lam was printed in multiple panels for shipment to UCI. Installation was done on campus over the course of two days. The trailer was on display the next morning and was a huge hit for people in attendance at the symposium.

Thanks to a $1 million gift from Base 11, a nonprofit STEM workforce development and entrepreneur accelerator, the UCI “Moonshot Initiative” will establish a rocketry program at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering, with the intent of making UCI the first academic institution to launch a liquid-fuel rocket into space. The Samueli Foundation is also a sponsor of the trailer.

jetBlue Window Graphics

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, jetBlue Airways, needed to replace/update their window branding at the Long Beach Airport jetBlue Terminal. Working with the Facilities Department for jetBlue corporate in Salt Lake City, we tested and calibrated their PMS colors and, once approved, printed the panels.

jetBlue’s window graphics were printed on 3M adhesive vinyl IJ40 with 3M 8509 Lamination to protect the vinyl. IJ40 adhesive vinyl has high quality printing capabilities and is a great product for walls, windows, floors, vehicle wraps and more.

Installation began by removing the existing vinyl. With clean windows, we installed the new graphics. Each window measured 88″×120″. Removal and installation was completed on the same day. Our client was very happy with the results.

Do you have windows you want to upgrade or use to brand your company? If so, give us a call. We’d be happy to help bring your vision to reality.
