Beginning in 2015, we will be celebrating our 60th year of service! Founded by Dean Hesketh in 1955, Photomation has evolved from a photographic studio to a wide format printing company. The vision of our founder continues to be our goal today, “To be your best supplier.”

To achieve that vision we continue to innovate by bringing you new products and services that help improve your sales, inform your prospects, clients and staff, and create a unique environment for your business.

Legacy of The Sisters of Saint Joseph

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, St. Jude Medical Center, wanted to display some history of their founders, The Sisters of Saint Joseph, in a corridor that connects the original building and their brand new Northwest Tower. To do so, they called their Photomation Account Executive, Ed McIntosh, to help them bring their vision to reality.

Due to strict hospital construction regulations, all materials had to meet special flame/smoke ratings to be considered for this project. A total of six different wall designs were created for this job. Metal plates were installed behind the drywall to hold the final weight of the display. Using a flame and smoke rated particleboard attached to the wall, Mystical wallcovering was applied on top to create the base or backdrop of the display.

Next, we added a custom sculptured wood panel and direct-to-glass printed lace patterns designed by the Sisters. These glass panels, along with various other historical images mounted to plexiglass were installed using metal stand-offs. Lastly, we mounted a vinyl graphic to Di-Bond and created a contour cut-out on our Zund cutter. This graphic was placed on top of the others to create a three dimensional look.

The end result is beautiful and does a great job of communicating the story of the Legacy of The Sisters of Saint Joseph.
