Angels Express Rolls Into Town

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), approached their Photomation Account Manager, Mike Mertz, about wrapping a railcar for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In conjunction with Metrolink, OCTA and the Angels, designs were submitted and placement adjustments suggested. Resolution tests were performed on the four player images to be used on the train.

Once all parties approved the layout, production began on this 85 foot long by 16 foot tall graphic. The image was positioned on a Metrolink rail car template and 20 panels were created for each side. Additional material was printed for the ends of the train as well.

The railcar was given a special cleaning to prepare the surface for the graphic to adhere properly. The next day installation began. A few days later specially laminated window perforated material was installed over the windows. This film allows for the graphic to be printed on the outside and passengers to see out from the inside! The total time for installation was 5 days.

The train looks beautiful! Look for it when it rolls into your town. All aboard!!

Finishing Touch

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client,El Cholo® Restaurants, called their Photomation Account Manager, Mike Mertz, to help with the interior of their newest location opening in Anaheim Hills, CA. Our challenge was to gather images, print, laminate and stretch six canvas art pieces and meet their opening deadline of just five days. Mike worked with the client to help locate historical images and build files for production.

Upon client approval, Photomation printed large 49″×62″ giclée canvas images. The photo portion was printed and we added 3″ black edges for wrapping to give the final art a framed look. Our finishing team laminated the canvas with a protective coating then our professional framers stretched the canvas on 2″ stretcher bars.

The décor of each of the El Cholo® restaurants radiates warmth and relaxation. Photos of early Los Angeles history, family, friends, and celebrities gives guests a sense of the restaurant’s history. El Cholo® is the original Southern California Mexican restaurant providing unparalleled flavors. Our canvas giclee prints added just the right finishing touch.
