Peace, Calm on a Pedestal

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, Mission Hospital, needed a plaque and pedestal that would stand up outdoors. One of the greatest honors for us is to work on spaces dedicated to bringing a sense of peace and calm to those who visit.  For this project, we were given the opportunity to create a custom, laser-engraved Corian plaque attached to a pedestal.  This plaque is located in the Schumacher Healing Garden adjacent to the hospital’s chapel.

One of the requirements we had was to create a metal base that would not rust in the rain and other outdoor elements.  We fabricated the pedestal and the base out of polished aluminum.  The base and the pedestal were MIG-welded creating a seamless joint.

From a supplied digital file of the finished artwork, we laser engraved the text and the logos into the Corian.  That piece was attached to the aluminum pedestal and installed at the hospital. The finished piece is elegant, durable and helps create the peace and calm the client envisioned.

Unleash Your Creativity With Textures

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Last week we introduced a new line of graphics called Textures. These unique graphics can be used in a variety of ways to create dazzling displays. To show off some of the possibilities, our VP of Digital Imaging, Brian Mundy, created some examples of how you could incorporate logos and Textures into stunning wall décor.

Using Cinema 4D, Brian created the photo realistic images you see above. The combination of Textures, colors, logos and design are endless. Let your creative juices flow and transform a dull, boring wall into a dramatic element of your lobby, office or conference room.

You can add dimensional lettering and logos on top of a Textures background that reflects your image and impacts your environment. Imagine using beveled plexiglass images with stand-offs on top of a Textures background. Think of the “WOW” factor you can communicate to your clients when you use ECOresin panels to enhance the Textures background. Unleash your creativity and see how Textures can be used for your next project.

Canvasing the World

KnowledgeByte Main Image

Our client, artist Lyle Hammons, makes traveling his passion. So much so, he even met his wife while trekking in the Himalayas. Stunning landscape photographs of his adventures have been exhibited at the Art-A-Fair Festival in Laguna Beach for the last 15 years.

Lyle has worked with Photomation’s Artist Services for the past 5 years. This year and last, Lyle has chosen canvas prints to produce and display for the upcoming Art Festival. “While working with John Hesketh at Photomation”, Mr. Hammons says, “I’ve learned how to present my photos in the best possible way.” Speaking about his current canvas project, he continues, “Photomation has changed the way I look at photography as an art form.”

You can see Lyle and his canvas prints in Booth C15 at the Art-A-Fair Art Festival in Laguna Beach now through August 28th.
