It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Our client, City of Anaheim Community Services Department, wanted to transform their blank walls into a feature piece that would highlight the City’s libraries, golf courses, parks and recreation, and neighborhood and human services all of which fall under their supervision. Working with their Photomation Account Executive, Ralph Love, a design was discussed to communicate their vision using images on digital wall covering material.

The project was actually comprised of three components; a 237" × 42" wall covering, a raised dimensional sign with lettering affixed to the wall using standoffs, and a series of 19 - 18" × 24" mounted DigitalMaster™ prints highlighting all of the Community Services Department’s facilities and activities.

We met several times with the department to cull through image selections, discuss color palettes, digital compositing and final image placement. Samples were made to show how the wall covering would look and included matching the color of the graphic to the furniture. Installation of the wall covering was done on one day and we installed the custom sign the following day.

The new wall covering and sign adds a whole new look to the department’s workspace. It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Serving Generations

Our client, Don Ruben Mexican Grill, came to us for new signage to open their most recent restaurant. Owner, Ruben Rodriguez, Jr., is the son of Green Burrito Mexican Restaurant founder Ruben Rodriquez Sr. Photomation has been doing menu graphics and POP promotions for the Rodriquez family for over 20 years.

For his newest restaurant, Ruben Jr. needed a new custom menu board, as well as outdoor signage to go into existing sign cabinets. Working with Photomation’s Account Executive Francisco Flores and artist Jeff DeAugustine, we created a completely new menu board using the restaurant’s iconic burro and logo. In addition to the inside menu board, we also created and installed a large building sign and a marquee sign to bring increased traffic to the new location. Additional signage was applied to the entrance doors to brand the location.

Extending the Vision

Our client, Yamaha Corporation of America, wanted to extend a vision created one year ago. Back in 2008, we installed digital wall covering that helped illustrate the scope of work performed at the Buena Park, California facility. The project then entailed covering walls that measured nearly 100 feet in length.

As the company added new office space, they wanted to extend the vision by adding new graphics to walls that were recently constructed. This project was composed of two walls measuring nearly 60 feet.

Printed on 3M 180C with an 8519 laminate, Photomation coordinated the graphic installation and the installation of the chair rail. You can see from the before and after pictures above, the new graphics make a dramatic impact on the office environment.

Contest of Excellence

Our client, Infiniti, needed a special combination disc that would hold press content for their complete model lineup as well as press information for the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Infiniti is a major sponsor of the event held in Monterey, Ca.

The Concours d’Elegance portion of the disc contained high resolution versions of the event posters, cars and motorcycles. It also included event artwork, maps, awards, event judges, press releases as well as a section containing all of the event charities and sponsors. Infiniti’s part of the disc contained their complete model lineup for 2010.

Photomation staff got the event content from several sources and optimized the images for print reproduction. Press releases were obtained and organized then put into a logical structure to make them easy to find and use.

Consistent with the style of the event, the disks had some unique packaging. After duplication, each disk was inserted into specially printed mailers that were produced by Photomation. The completed project was shipped directly to the event held on the storied 18th fairway of Pebble Beach Golf Club. A contest of excellence, indeed.
